Talin Spring grew up in a house where everything was made by hand, both her mother and grandmother were very skilled embroiderers, sewers and knitters. Seeing their daily creations during my childhood made her appreciate the value of the hand, with its perfections and imperfections – that she loves most.
Born in Istanbul into a European family of leather lovers and shoe makers, Talin lived most of my life in France. After graduate studies at Columbia University in NY and returning to Paris with Arthur " l'Américain", she worked in investment banking for 12 years traveling frequently to Asia. She started thinking about reorienting her career towards accessories design -a longtime passion- when her girls started school. Although not knowing clearly what she wanted to do, Talin prepared her path by taking evening classes at École Duperré, learning over the years things as different as mosaics, Italian, interior design and art history.
A move to Marseille in 2002 put an end to my banking career, a relief, and she started working on a free lance basis for French clothing companies including Divertimento and Atelier Vertiges, designing and following production for home linens, jewelry and leather goods in various countries such as Turkey, India or Thailand. Her favorite part was always the hours spent with artisans, working with them, following the process from drawings to the final product.
Created in 2011 in Minneapolis, Spring Finn & Co proposes leather bags and accessories with a utilitarian chic look, a delicate balance of unpretentious charm, simple design and unadorned integrity. Depending on the item, some are entirely made by Talin and some by local artisans.
